Samira brings a wealth of leadership experience in both academic and commercial institutions on 3 continents. After obtaining her Molecular Biology degree from Southern California, she worked at Beckman Coulter as a national support manager and then a global marketing manager. Samira then moved to Lebanon to become the director of biomedical research at the American University of Beirut and lead the transformation of research departments at the medical school. She then moved to Ireland to be site lead for Becton Dickenson (BD), leading 200 engineers and scientists working on global R&D projects. Samira brings a wealth of management know-how as well as a passion to provide a new and effective healthcare offering for sepsis.

Jakki Cooney PhDChief Scientific Officer
Jakki Cooney is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences in the Bernal Institute at University of Limerick and is a member of the Materials and Surface Science Institute (MSSI), the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre (APC) in University College Cork and is part of the recently SFI funded CÚRAM initiative. Jakki is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin with a PhD in Molecular Microbiology.
Todd Kagawa PhDHead of Research
Todd was previously a Research Fellow in Advanced Protein Biochemistry at the University of Limerick and has more than 25 years of global research experience in protein characterization, molecular dynamics and enzyme immobilization. Todd is a graduate from the University of Hawai’i and holds a PhD in Biophysics and Biochemistry from Oregon State University.
