Jakki Cooney PhDChief Scientific Officer
Jakki Cooney is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences in the Bernal Institute at the University of Limerick and is a member of the Materials and Surface Science Institute (MSSI), the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre (APC) in University College Cork and is part of the recently SFI funded CÚRAM initiative. Jakki is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin with a PhD in Molecular Microbiology.

Todd was previously a Research Fellow in Advanced Protein Biochemistry at the University of Limerick and has more than 25 years of global research experience in protein characterization, molecular dynamics and enzyme immobilization. Todd is a graduate from the University of Hawai’i and holds a PhD in Biophysics and Biochemistry from Oregon State University.

Kieran is the Chairman of Curran Scientific Ltd and a non-executive Director of Longboat. He was founder and CEO of GenCell Biosystems, which was acquired by Becton Dickinson in 2014. Previously, Kieran was a technology leader at Stokes Bio (acquired by Life Technologies). Kieran is a graduate of the University of Limerick and holds a PhD in Microfluidic Technology.
Jim Walsh PhD Non-executive Director
Jim has 25 years general management experience in the Healthcare industry. He is a Director of Trinity Biotech Plc, and Executive Chairman of Biosensia Ltd and was Executive Chairman of GenCell Biosystems Ltd until it was acquired by Becton Dickenson in 2014. Until 2010 Dr. Walsh was CEO of Stokes Bio Ltd. Jim is also an investor in and a Director of a number of early stage Life-science Companies. Dr Walsh has a degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Microbiology from University College Galway.
